Have you ever heard the term “heat soak” affecting the performance your car? High intake air temperature is a power killer, and one of the most effective ways to improve real world power output of your ISF is by reducing heat soak. The stock intake manifold, although well designed, is large, heavy, and is made of aluminum which has a very high thermal conductivity, soaking up all the heat from your engine block, and transferring some of that heat to the air entering your engine. Our solution is an old hot rodder’s trick… insulate the intake manifold from the engine block by using a heat insulating gasket, thereby dramatically reducing heat transfer to the intake manifold. According to our test chart below, intake manifold temperatures were reduced by 30 degrees!
Our Teflon Intake Manifold Gaskets feature:
-
100% Teflon ¼” thick. Teflon is an excellent heat insulator, and is the most durable high temperature plastic available.
- No intake manifold gaskets are necessary when using our Teflon spacers!
- Extended Stainless steel bolts
- Throttle body coolant bypass fitting (results in an additional 6 degrees temperature reduction)
Please note: since these spacers are ¼” thick, additional spacers may be necessary if using the RR Racing Chassis brace with an engine cover.
